Treat every day like christmas
Who doesn’t love a cozy baking show? I was provided a season style guide and font before diving into graphics.
Get warm and festive. Think cozy lodge, dark wood, twinkle lights, and gingerbread men. Their provided font gave a lot of festive swirl and flourish, which I incorporated into the lower third and title page.

There’s room for everyone on the nice list
The brief mentioned feeling competitive and “a little bit naughty.” To reach this, I’m avoiding childish esthetics and pushing high contrast in colors.
After that, my job boiled down to throwing Christmas cheer at photoshop until it spat up tinsel.

Hand Drawn Illustrations
Lower Third, Backplate & Title Design
I used several variations of white swirls, snowflakes and warm colors. These are designed to coordinate with the show's dedicated font and log cabin set.

Spot the differences
I was the designer behind 11 out of the 18 bake illustrations - obviously all illustrations must match in style perfectly. I ran a test illustration and worked closely with Reece Parker so that every drawing in the show was cohesive.
We also had the fun challenge of drawing the concept of the bakes without spoiling the result… or scaring the audience.
I could draw this doll as is, but she may be mistaken for a corpse in a casket.
Did the baker imagine this polar bear runway thin, or was the original intent more cuddly?
Should this rocking horse actually have no neck?

Loved this experience! The festive illustrations were a fun challenge. I’d never complain about Christmas in August.
