Nose Deep in the Brand
✔ Include the 4 breakpoints used on Alaskaair.com
✔ Research plane ticket requirements + manage account
✔ Translate the product details into Alaska Airlines' playful voice (writing air-travel puns at work 😂)
Figma Takeoff
✔ Dig through the brand guide.
✔ Lose all sense of time reverse-engineering layouts, emails, typography, colors, breakpoints, and tone.
✔ Convert all that brand knowledge into Figma components and cohesive layouts

Three Teams, One product, Sky-high Expectations
The Alaska Airlines and Recurly teams were seriously lovely and they were THRILLED that the design looked like Alaskaair.com.
I knew I didn’t inhale that website for nothing.

A conversion-focused, brand-faithful experience
The two highest priorities for this project were keeping to the Alaska Airlines style and making sales. See below for a few of my strategies to help that happen, resulting in successful A/B tests.

A/B Test
Alaska Airlines conducted an A/B test on this section of my design. This “blink test” validated my intent behind this design. This section was designed to have a big impact without overwhelming an Alaska regular. The first section gives our user a sense of safety before the second section makes the sale. In the test, removing the first section dropped the click-through rate by 20%.
